Petr Žáček found the Esperanza Junk in Italy nearby Venice in 1990 and it was love on first sight. He got a loan and started business. Until 1992 he was sailing with divers on Gargano and the Tremiti islands. One year later, when he found out that he can sail on Vltava he started business in Prague. For years he was anchoring in Prague and the business was doing good. For some time he even sailed the Croatian seas, but in 2001 he returned back to Prague. This was a good choice, because that is when he met his wife Lucie that is also helping out on the boat.

The Junk went through wide reconstructions in 2012, so it could go on an expedition through Europe. It sailed from Prague through Germany and to Holland. From there it continued through Belgium to France and then over the Mediterranean Sea all the way to Gargano. Petr and Lucie were joined by almost a hundred candidates who would take turns every week.
